The Antique Baltimore Garden Quilt

This is the quilt that inspired the book "Baltimore Garden Quilt." The quilting on this antique quilt is incredible. Here are some closeup photos of the antique quilt so you can see the quilting and the cross stitch signature. Most of the floral motifs are NOT actually quilted like you would draw a flower on paper. It is the closely quilted lines that form the quilted flowers and vines.

  1. What a beautiful quilt. How many yards of the red, yellow, and green did it take? I am dreaming while waiting for the book to arrive.

  2. HAHA a lot! All the fabric requirements are in the book, given both ways - overall fabric requirements to make the whole quilt - and again for block by block, in case you want to make only one block, or if you want to do all your blocks in different fabrics.

  3. Wow. The quilting is amazing. The floral designs are more like bas relief quilting. So glad the quilt went to such a good home.
